Preparations at the Wall Centre for our big day

I know, I know it's been AGES since I updated the blog but I'm sure you all can agree with me that my life has been a whirlwind these past 4 weeks. It was only yesterday that I realized that it had been ONLY a month since I left work. I'd been so busy, I didn't even realize. I can't imagine what this all would have been like if I had been working up to the thursday before the wedding. YIKES.

Well, none of that matters now. All that matters is that Richard and I had our perfect day and are now husband and wife!

I'm sorry I don't have more pictures yet but I'm hoping those of you with digital cameras can send me some to include. Our photographer's shots are all done the old style so they won't be available for a few weeks yet.

Thanks to Sandra (my maid of honour with the mostest!) here are some before the ceremony shots. I think I'll have to explain them as I go... We'll just talk about what happened in the morning getting ready and all.

This is me BEFORE all the magic took place. Ali is my hairdresser regularly and was just ecstatic to come out and do this on her weekend off (at 7.30 in the morning) to help us get ready. Our make-up was done by my talented cousin Tia Gramuglia. If any of you ladies need make-up advice or help or anything go see Tia at the Bay Downtown at the MAC counter. She's the BEST!

Once we were all dolled up, it was time for photos. The above is me with my mother Patricia on the left and my paternal grandmother Gloria (Nan as we all call her) on the right.

Once we kicked everyone out of the room, Sandra and I had a sip of Baileys. Sandra was so concerned I would get it on my dress, she covered first in a towel (up top) and then in her pashmina (the black on the bottom). And, no, I didn't spill but of course, I would have had I not been covered so thoroughly.

The flowers arrived thanks to my brother David and his girlfriend Michelle. Here I am pinning my mom's corsage on.

And then the one shot of the "bridal party". Sandra and I taking a moment to sit and do nothing! I'll leave it at that for now. I'll post more later in the week.

Kathryn Hunt's Metamorphosis (post of email sent Oct 4th)

HM… The math… 11.5 years. All of my twenties. My whole adult life. 1/3 of my entire life. WOW!!!!

Hello Family and Friends, I hope this email finds you well. Richard and I are counting down the days to the wedding.

It’s been a long run for my first job out of school but it’s now come to an end. I was laid off (or let go – whatever you want to call it) last Wednesday from Business Objects. Sorry it took me so long to get a hold of you all but since I had to hand in my laptop and blackberry on the spot, I wasn’t able to get your contact information right away.

Don’t worry. I’m fine. Seriously! I was shocked yes but I’m fine now. When the going gets tough, the tough go shopping and that’s what we did. Got a new laptop (using it right now) and Rich got a new monitor for his computer. Thanks for being so strong for me RW.

The timing is a little strange (with the wedding and the new house) but it’s also quite perfect. Everything else in my life is changing (becoming a wife, name, address, phone numbers, jobs – well, had just started a new role) so why not start fresh all the way?!?!? On my blog, I made a comment about maybe I should get a little plastic surgery and then I could be in Witness Protection. J And even stay in Vancouver but no one would recognize me. I am so looking forward to my first extended break since high school! I’ll be able to put my full attention on the things that matter most: our marriage as well as making this new house of ours into a happy and lovely home.

For those of you that are former or current BOBJ employees, I’m on http://www.linkedin.com as well. (Use any of the addresses above to “invite” me to connect). Any Endorsements would be AWESOME. ; )

Well, I’ve got to get ready for yet another choir rehearsal. (Yes, I’m in yet another choir – first performance is the afternoon of Oct 30th if you’re interested).

Keep in touch!
-Kathryn “Webster” (hehehehehe – counting the days)
