Angie in "Our Park" for the last time

Our move date is set. The MOther's Day weekend. It's coming up FAST.

While we had some down-time, (just on the tail end of the "hurry up and wait"), I thought it would be fun to enjoy our springtime park for the last time.

Click here to see pics of Rich, Angie and various props having fun in the park. Enjoy!

*BANG* SOLD - For WAY MORE!

Yes. It's official. Our house in Steveston has now been sold. It was sold through a bidding war.

There were 4 offers at the out-set.

1 of the bids was by an agent who was purchasing for himself and his new wife.

1 was from a French family and they had their agent come in and present to us directly. The absolute shocker about their initial bid was that it was 25k more than others AND no "subject to's". (WOW! No home inspection! WEIRD)

It was almost 4 hours to get all this done but I'll cut to the chase.

Our house sold for 50k over asking!!!!!!!!!! This is huge for us b/c now it puts us in to par with our new house. (We were over-reaching before).

OPEN HOUSE PICS - If you want to take a look at the pics from our Open House this weekend, please check them out on Facebook.

Special thanks my bro-in-law Steve for making a garden out of a terrible yard from bamboo stuff. Also, thank you to my Mom - Trish. She was a heavy-weight behind the steam cleaner. Who knew? They actually work!!!!!

If you're interested in looking at our new home we will be in just over 30 days, check out Shutterfly's TinkerTownHome site.

"Start Spreading the New".... "Vancouver Vancouver!!!!!!!!"

Yup. 5.5 years in Sunny Steveston is coming to an end very soon. We are buying a place across the street from Science World on False Creek in the very near future. We're all very excited and very busy.

But first. We must sell our place. Today I used craigslist for the first time to sell our huge wardrobe and had it disassembled, out of our house and got remunerated for it (1/2 price) all is less than 12 hours. This could get addicting. NO. We have already decided to donate everything else. If you want it, come and get it. We probably have what you're looking for. But hurry.

The rest of the house is getting stored, packed, placed or whatever for Open House look.

Enough of all this, here's the situ. It's located at 1288 Quebec Street. It is NOT where the A shows. Look south to the Vancity building. We're the building almost under it on the north side. Our town-home in the furthest right of the 6. If you look in satellite, we're the one in the sunshine on the East.

Here are some of the pics we took on our walk-through. Sorry they don't look great but taking pics was not the focus of the trip.

WOW! I Had Forgotten About the Glass

I know these posts are going to seem boring and dumb and the like but the only way I think I will accomplish the goal is to document it. Help me! Read!

OK. Day #1 of my Clean-Up/Organize Quest.

RECAP: This week is the Dining Room. 6 tasks by end of week:
  1. Camera Equipment
  2. Travel Stuff
  3. Music
  4. Bar
  5. Party Platters
  6. Recycling
SO. How did I do today? All of the camera equipment (other locations as well) have been put into the middle drawer of the filing cabinet. Camera, tripod, extra lenses, portfolio book and bag. (Well, the bag is next to the cabinet but close enough).

You end up doing multiple tasks at once but I have finished the camera task. Recycling went far. DID YOU KNOW THAT OUR DINING ROOM TABLE IS MADE OF GLASS??? It's the first time in a long time we've seen it. JK. I knew but it still can be surprising.

BIG GOAL -> small tasks

Our house is rather large for a family of 3. It was even bigger when it was just the 2 of us.

I've been trying to keep up with the clutter since we moved here but I have been failing miserably. Since Angie came, it's gotten worse. I swear, every time I clean one pile, two are created in place.

So, it's my 37th birthday and a month before Angie's 3rd birthday. We want to have some people over for a party (no plans yet though). That means we have a month to get things complete.

We bought a filing cabinet to handle some of our paper but it's not the paper that's the problem. UGH

Sorted hand-me-downs from under and somewhat on the dining room table.

The Dining Room is my first attempt. By the end of the week, on school days, I will work on putting away:
  • Camera equipment
  • Travel equipment
  • Music
  • Bar organized
  • Party platters etc...
  • recycling (large boxes for outdoor angel and filing cabinet)
I get 2.5 days to myself this week (about). I'm hoping I can psych up to get a good over/under score.

Wish me luck.
