The Natural Order of Things

Lately, I've been asked by many people "Are you crazy?!?! Planning a wedding and a honeymoon, working full-time AND house-hunting all at the same time?!?!?!" My answer is "Well, what else can we do? He lives in Coal Harbour and I live in Yaletown. We're gonna HAVE to live together EVENTUALLY!"

OK. So it's obvious we're doing this the more traditional way. We're not "moving in" until after the wedding. Hence the title (the natural order).

What's really ironic is that the "traditional" way is so out of culture today.

It's been amazing how many people just completely change their expression to complete awe when they realize we're not living together. I get the "WOW! That's amazing! No wonder you're doing the house-hunt now!"

I've even heard a few along the lines of"That is just so unexpected. When did the moving in after part of a marriage move before?! Cart and horse non? It's such a shame. But not for you! You're gonna enjoy your wedding and other firsts so much more because of all this." All this what? WAITING!?!?! GAH!!! Yes. I admit... I'm stressed. But then...

The best line that I've heard and it truly sticks with me is "Good things come to those who wait". Gotta keep remembering that. Just breathe. Good things... Good things...

Have we waited long enough yet?!?!?

Apparently YES! (On one front anyway)

We found our dream home on Canada Day. We put a bid on it that day, got it accepted on the 2nd and on July 6th, all subjects were removed. We take possession on August 24th.

Check it out!

That's the Katmobile (with Canada Flag waving proudly) with her baby sister the RichKatPod. (Just trying the name on... not committed yet).

For those of you in the Vancouver area, if you've got any spare boxes... :) heh heh

We will be living in Steveston Village (South Richmond). Walking distance to the dyke and the village and the fisherman's wharf (mmmm fresh seafood).

I'll probably be moving my stuff in before the wedding but continuing to live downtown until around the wedding day. It's just more convenient. Rich's stuff will be moved in after the big day. We're in no big rush so we can even take advantage of the non-rush weeks for moving companies.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICHARD!!!

Rich's Birthday is on Monday (July 11th) so I'm taking him to the island for a few days of R&R.
